Developing learning materials
There are many opportunities for employers to help teachers develop learning materials for students.
Employers can help by providing:
- real-life examples of curriculum learning
- ideas for student projects
- help in a consultative role, i.e. advising on learning materials that have already been created
- in-depth input into the formation of a new curriculum resource.
The learning materials can cover any subject and at any level. Teaching teams working on the Diploma are especially keen to work with employers to develop realistic learning materials that are relevant to the modern workplace.
OMG Hair and Beauty Salon in Swindon provide an excellent example of how one small business has worked with teaching staff to help bring learning to life for students studying the Diploma in Hair and Beauty.
